Barn Wedding Photography
Converted barns give you beams, warm light through big doors, and a reception space that needs handling once the sun drops.
Barn weddings
What barn weddings ask of us.
Barn weddings photograph beautifully and light badly, which is the whole craft of shooting them. Most conversions have one very good hour when the afternoon sun comes through the main doors, and then a long evening under warm tungsten that flattens everything unless you light it yourself. We plan the day around that first hour and bring our own light for the second.

Barn weddings
Worth knowing.
- Agree the confetti and open-flame rules with the venue early. Many barns ban both.
- Barn ceremonies usually happen in the same room as the meal, so there is a turnaround gap to plan portraits into.
- Rural barns lose light faster than the forecast suggests, especially with trees on the western side.
